Somerset County family regains access to clean water thanks to nonprofit & local company

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Somerset County family will soon have access to clean water, after going months without it, thanks to the help of some local companies and a nonprofit whose goal is to provide clean water access across the globe. Officials say in November, the Godin family's water well stopped producing enough water due to drought conditions last summer. The well was also caving in, forcing the Stoystown family of seven to drive about 20 minutes to get water for bathing their children and flushing their toilets. Read More...

Berlin man threatened to kill two police officers, local judge, police say

Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say a Berlin man is behind bars in Somerset County after he allegedly threatened to kill two local police officers and a district judge. Police say on Friday, 44-year-old Christopher Moran allegedly stole an alcoholic drink from the Diamond Mini Mart in Berlin Borough. Officials say when officers arrived at the scene, Moran allegedly resisted arrest and threatened to kill the two men. He is also accused of spitting on one of the officers. Read More...

Downtown Yogurt still planning to come to Johnstown, but it could be a while

There are still plans to bring Downtown Yogurt to Johnstown, but it likely still will not be for a while after they had to change plans, now working on several other properties in the area. A first taste for the frozen yogurt and ice cream shop was held in July 2022 with expectations that the store would open shortly after.
