'Epic rager' for UNC frat brothers that defended US flag set for Labor Day

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (TND) — A concert to honor fraternity brothers that defended the U.S. flag from pro-Palestinian protesters is in its early planning stages, organizers announced. Images and videos circulating social media in May depicted members of the University of North Carolina’s Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Epsilon Pi and other fraternities holding up the U.S. flag. Beauty pageant can exclude transgender contestants, US appeals court rules

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A federal appellate court on Wednesday said a national beauty pageant has a First Amendment right to exclude a transgender woman from competing because including her could interfere with the message the pageant has said it wants to send about "what it means to be a woman." The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling came in response to a lawsuit filed by Anita Green, who said the Miss United States of America pageant violated an Oregon state anti-discrimination law when it barred her from competing in 2019. Disgruntled worker shot 5 coworkers including supervisor; 2 people dead

CHESTER, Pa. (TND) — A disgruntled employee is accused of shooting and killing his coworkers at a longstanding business in a Philadelphia suburb, according to officials. "He shot five people, five coworkers... two are deceased, three are at the hospital. I'm asking everybody in this region that listening today to pray for them right now. They are in serious condition, and we are hopeful that they are able to survive," Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer told local media outlets at the scene Wednesday morning.
