JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — One person has died after a fire in Johnstown, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said Sunday night.
Johnstown fire crews were called sometime after 9:30 p.m. Sunday to Building 15 at Oakhurst Homes in the city's West End neighborhood for a fire on the first floor that spread into the second floor, Lees said.
Lees said a man in his 40's was found dead inside the unit that caught fire.
The Coroner's Office was in the process of death notification as of midnight Monday.
Johnstown Fire Chief Bob Statler said an initial investigation determined the fire was an accident due to an electrical issue. A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall and Johnstown Police Detective Bureau are also investigating the origin of the fire, Lees said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
